Itinerary:
Please join me for an evening, after work walk around popular Chastain Park in Buckhead! The three-mile path around Chastain Park is one of PATH's most popular trails and is a very pretty area winding around the golf course, other facilities and wooded areas. Surveys indicate an average of up to 250 joggers, dog-walkers, cyclists and rollerbladers use the trail each hour, so it is important to be able to move to the right for traffic.  That is why I am limiting the size of our group.

Even though it is a three mile loop, I am listing this as a D1 since it is not technically difficult or strenuous and we will keep a steady but moderate pace as we walk. This is a good beginner's hike, particularly for anyone living in town.

I am allowing for up to four dogs, since they are welcome in the park. All dogs must be leashed at all times and be well-socialized with both people and other dogs.  You will also be expected to pick up after them, of course.

We will be meeting in the upper parking lot of the stables on Powers Ferry Road.  There is always plenty of parking available in that lot. Directions are provided below.

For a map of the park trails see the link below. We will be doing either the blue or red route:
