This note is here so that you can make an informed decision. When a Trip Leader isn't personally familiar with a trip, there is an increased chance of things not going as planned and you need to be prepared. The Trip Leader may have additional details in the itinerary.

Itinerary:

Lullwater Park and its adjoining Hahn Woods are prized by hikers and joggers as a "crown jewel" of Emory University's extended campus in NE Atlanta.  The 185-acre forested nature preserve boasts an extensive trail system that takes visitors along the banks of South Fork Peachtree Creek with its old mill ruins & waterfalls, over the creek via a $175,000 210-foot-long suspension footbridge, past the Emory president's "Lullwater Estate" mansion, and around beautiful Candler Lake.  The older creekside trails connect to the more recently developed Hahn Woods nature preserve, adjoining Houston Mill Road.

After introductions, we'll begin the hike and take a leisurely to moderate pace, with occasional stops and photo-ops at scenic spots along the way—about 3 miles total in Lullwater Park. If time allows, we will add a walk through Hahn Woods. We expect to be back at our vehicles by 8:45 PM.

We'll meet
in the farthest end of the school's front parking lot beside the steel & stone gate that blocks further passage along Starvine Way-its signs say "Authorized Entry Only."
