Itinerary:
Sweetwater State Park offers a wide variety of terrains and difficulties which makes it one of the best parks in Georgia. We will begin our hike at the Interpretive Center promptly at 6:15PM.

This week we will hike parts of the Yellow, Red, Blue, and White trails giving us a great exercise! We will get to see wildflowers and other unique plants along the way. Of course we can't rule out seeing deer and other beautiful animals as well...even the common squirrel!

Starting out with the Yellow and Red trails we can expect to do some rock/root traversing as the well-warn trails along the river are much like the riverbed itself. The Blue and White trails are your standard foot trails for the most part. Note: Unlike my previous hikes at Sweetwater we will spend at least 35% of our time climbing hills making this hike a D3. Total of 3.6 miles. (Will feel like more)

The trails at Sweetwater are both easy and challenging at the same time as rocks, roots, and hills will keep you on your toes!

A little about myself. I spent 5 years with the Georgia State Parks and consider every minute some of the happiest minutes I've ever experienced. With that said, I hope to bring a little more to the table with my knowledge of plants, animals, and history.

So, join me Monday for a 3.6 mile hike at Sweetwater and stretch those legs!

1750 Mt. Vernon Road Lithia Springs , GA 30122

---Located on Factory Shoals Road off of Mt. Vernon Road.

* Use one of the many different map websites to figure your best route using the above address. (I like Google)
* Depending on your location in Atlanta it may be easier to travel the interstate system while others may find it easier to use secondary highways and roads.
* There are only a couple of signs directing traffic to this park so you will need to rely on your directions/maps.
