Itinerary:

We will be leaving the carpool as close to 9 am as possible.  Arriving at the Springer Mountain Parking lot around 11ish.  The hike itself will last 2-3 hours with some pretty views and moderate climbs.

Once done most likely will get something to eat on the way back.  If you ride with someone make sure you are clear as to if they are coming straight back or stopping and eating something.  There will be a nice overlook for us to stop and eat a snack at.

We should arrive back at the carpool about 4-5ish.

Now about the hike.
First we will climb out of the parking lot up to the summit of Springer Mountain.  There we can just take some pics and hang out and explore a few minutes.  Then backtrack down a little bit where off to our left is the Benton Mackaye trail.  We will turn there and continue down to a sign about 1 mile down stating views to our right.  That is where we will stop for a break and just enjoy the overlook of the valley below us.  Back to the trail we will then go down cross over FS 42 and another 1-2 miles the trail will take us back to the parking lot where we started.

The hike is moderate which is what I need since I am building back up after my auto accident.  So I figured why not bring some people along!
