Itinerary:
This is a moderate hike for an early Saturday morning.  There are three great overlooks from this section of the AT trail between Woody Gap and Sassafras Mountain.  At Sassafras we can stop for a snack, admire the view, and then head back to Woody Gap.  The last over look is north of Woody Gap about 2 more miles (4 round trip), this part is otional.  Total distance to Sassafras from Woody Gap is 7 miles (14 round trip).

     Everyone is encouraged to hike at there own pace, and it is recommended to regroup at the tops mountains or in the gaps.

     The Devil's Kitchen is where Justus Creek crosses over the AT Trail.  Should be plenty hot!  Forcast is 90 degress.

Carpool Cost: Estimated cost per vehicle for this event is $52.00 using a reimbursement rate guideline of $0.400 per mile. The total amount should be divided by the number of people in the vehicle, including the driver. This is a guideline, not a rule, for drivers but the cost should not be higher unless there are extenuating circumstances.
