Itinerary:
In July, this event was very popular and stranded several people on the wait list. So I'm scheduling it again! Get yer bagel bucks and sign up!

Come on out for an AOC bike ride on the Forsyth Big Creek Greenway (Click for photos and map) and some fantastic New York style bagels at BB's Bronx Bagels. To beat the heat and crowds we'll start at the early hour of 8:30am. We'll ride up to Bethelview Road trailhead and back in about 2hrs. The enitre trail is mostly flat with only about 100 feet of total elevation change one way. Easy riding for sure! After, we'll head a mile or so down McFarland Parkway  to BB's Bronx Bagels for some brunch New York style. The full trail reopened only a month or so ago. It will be great to revisit this favorite AOC biking trail.

We will meet at the sourhtern trailhead of McFarland Parkway. Look for a brown sign reading 'Big Creek Trail' and park in the gravel lot (heading east from GA400) off McFarland Parkway. We will gather in this lot and start our ride down the gravel access path at the paved trail. NOTE: Please complete your pre-ride maintenance (e.g. inflate tires, lube chain, etc.) a day or two prior to the event. This will allow us to leave on time and complete the event on schedule.

The one way distance is 6.8 miles. The out and back total distance is 13.6 miles. We'll be biking at an easy to moderate pace of  about 10-12 miles per hour. The trail is mostly straight but does wind through some senic rural areas. There are some boardwalks that can be slippery when wet.

BB's Bronx Bagel is 1.5 miles west on McFarland Parkway from the trailhead. It's got some amazing ratings on Yelp and local restaurant reviews. We'll have bagels after the ride. FYI, since it's very small and busy, BBs can't seat 15 people quickly. We can sit under a shade tree in front. Feel free bring a camp/lawn chair or towel.

**PLEASE NOTE**
You are responsible for your bike maintenance and/or repairs on the trail. Other AOCer's will be willing to provide what help they can. But ultimately individual riders are responsible for their own repairs. Please be aware that the group will not delay or alter the trip for a repair. Make sure you complete a pre-ride maintenance check a day or two prior to the event.
