Itinerary:
Update: To learn more about what to expect during this event, check out the write-up from last week's adventure at Stone Mountain.

Wednesday after-work workout. We'll leave a half hour later than the previous Wednesday runs scheduled by Tony T.

Meet up at Confederate Hall parking area next to the RR crossing, at the foot of the trail to the top.

One 5.1 mile loop of Cherokee Trail, moderate trail running / jogging pace. Trip leader will maintain ~10-12 min / mile pace jog as fast as his little legs will carry him. (I'm much slower than Tony) We'll follow the loop run with optional 1 or more runs or walks up and down the trail to the top of the mountain.

You're welcome to run ahead of or behind the main group. This event will differ from a typical AOC event because most of the participants are faster than the trip leader, and we're running in metro Atlanta. Unless I receive a phone call toward the end of the scheduled time for this event, I will assume you made it back ok. Be prepared for possibility of navigating the trail on your own at times, and carry a cell phone in case you have any issues.

Required Items to Bring:
Plenty of water or sports drink. Good trail shoes or running shoes.
Recommended Items to Bring:
Use our Event Checklists to make sure you have everything you need.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:Directions to Conferedate Hall: To the main entrance (Paid entry or annual pass)- From I-285 take U.S. Hwy 78 East (Snellville/Athens) exit. Travel about 7 miles and take Exit 8, the Stone Mountain Park Main Entrance. After entering the main entrance, proceed straight ahead. The road will fork at about 1 mile - stay to the right. Continue to follow the road for another mile. Confederate Hall will be on your left. The parking lot will be immediately after. We'll meet behind Confederate Hall near the walk up trail.

If you would like to try the free public parking in Stone Mountain Village, from Hwy 78 take exit 5 and merge onto GA 10. Proceed 0.5 miles to the first exit. At the end of the ramp turn left. Drive a mile or so, past a gas station and a funeral parlor (both on your right). When you see City Hall turn left. There is a Marta park and ride on fourth street. From there it is a short walk on East Mountain Street. Enter the park through the gate and you'll be at the parking lot where we'll be meeting. The Marta parking lot is about an 10-minute walk from the park.
