Itinerary:
Join us for a Sunday morning bike ride on the Arabia Mountain bike path.

We'll meet at the Davidson-Arabia Mountain Nature Preserve and gather at the kiosk at the start of the trail (near the building).  Our ride will take us from the Nature center to Panola Mountain where we'll take a nice break at Lake Alexander and wait for everyone to catch up before heading back on the same path.

We will maintain an easy pace between 10-12 mph.

All types of bikes and levels of riding ability are welcome. :)

Total distance of this ride is 17 miles.

The Arabia Mountain Trail is a multi-use paved scenic trail, which was built and is maintained by the PATH Foundation.  The trail is winding and has a few more hills that the average paved trail around the Atlanta area.

Click here for general info and maps.

NOTE: The AOC ride/event will end once we get back to the Nature preserve, but if anyone has the energy and wants to go check out some more of the trail past the nature center toward Lithonia, then you are welcome to join us.

Biking Etiquette:

The Arabia Mountain Trail is a paved multi-use path, which we'll be sharing with runners, walkers, joggers, bicyclists, strollers, dogs, etc.

Here's some things to keep in mind while you are biking:

- Be considerent of others on the trail.

- Be aware of your surroungings at all times.

- Stay on your side of the trail unless you are planning to pass someone that is coming up on your right.

- Don't assume someone knows you are coming up behind them to pass. When you pass someone on the right, you should always give a simple shout "on your left". People are very appreciative of this and will normally say "thank ya", give a wave or even just a quick nod.

- Don't ride in the middle of the trail, especially if you see bicyclists, walkers, runners, joggers, etc. coming toward you. If you are in conversation then slowly back off and fall behind so people coming toward you aren't forced to hit the ditch or yell nasty things.

* We encourage all members to follow our Etiquette Guidelines while participating in AOC events.
