OVERVIEW:  Harbins Park, opened in 2009, is Gwinnett County's largest park, at nearly 2,000 acres.  It includes biking, hiking and horse trails, as well as restooms, changing rooms, water and a picnic paviollion (See detailed directions and address below).
  Our pace will be moderate, but we'll ride a minimum of 12 miles, thus the D4 rating.   Therefore, some minimal mountain biking experience is recommended.   Our ride will include ALL of the major loops, including the new 7 mile Loop #5 (on the W side of the park).

EVENT PLAN:
  Please be ready to ride at the start time of 8:30, so that we can enjoy the cool morning temperatures.  For a TRAIL MAP, click on the JPG map link at the link below.

In case of cancellation or postponement due to rain (or trail closure due to recent rain), I'll send an E-mail by 10:00 the prior evening. 
    You can check the trail hotline at 770-978-5270, however please still check your E-mail in case of rain.  


Required Items to Bring:


1) Mountain Bike (Please check it out before the day of the ride to ensure that it’s in working order)

2) Helmet.

3) Water Bottles or Camelbak
4) Spare tube & portable pump

Recommended Items to Bring:
Use our Event Checklists to make sure you have everything you need.

Tool Kit, with tire levers, patch kit, allen wrenches and other wrences necessary to make adjustments (esp for seat, tires, pedals, handlebar)


How to Get There:

FROM the I-85/ I-285 INTERCHANGE in NE ATLANTA
: (Allow about 35 minutes for the 26-mile drive from this interchange to Harbins Park.) 

1) Take I-85 North about 10 miles and exit at GA-316, Exit #106 (bearing right here toward Lawrenceville and Athens).

2) Take GA-316 East about 2.0 miles and exit to your Right at Sugarloaf Pkwy.

3) Turn Right onto Sugarloaf Parkway, go about 8.4 miles and exit to your Right at New Hope Rd.  (Your GPS may not show that Sugarloaf continues to this point.)

4) Turn Right onto New Hope Road and go about 5.3 miles to Luke Edwards Rd.

5) Turn Right onto Luke Edwards Road and go about 0.5 mile to Harbins Park on your right.  We'll meet at in the parking lot near the restrooms.   Look or Harry's bright green Honda Element.  Parking is free.
