Itinerary:

When all the zookeepers have gone home and the animals have drifted off to sleep, the only things stirring at Zoo Atlanta are... NIGHTCRAWLERS! Since 1989, Zoo Atlanta has given adults and children throughout the Southeast a unique opportunity to learn about zoos, their inhabitants, and wildlife conservation through their NightCrawler overnight program.

As the sun sets and Zoo Atlanta closes its gates for the evening, we will go behind-the-scenes to see what happens in the Zoo after hours in a nocturnal adventure that you will never forget!

Saturday, Oct 8th
5:45pm - Arrive at the Zoo Atlanta NightCrawler parking lot and check-in
6:30pm-10:00pm - Behind-the-Scenes Evening Program including:
      - Up-Close Animal Encounters
      - Animal Nutrition Kitchen Tour
      - World of Reptiles Tour
      - Other Themed Activities
10:00pm-11:00pm - Head to the climate-controlled Gorilla Room to prepare for bed next to our fellow primates. Lights out at 11pm.

Sunday, Oct 9th
7:00am-8:00am - Wake up. Pack up and load belongings by 8:00am
8:00am-8:30am - Continental breakfast, including various cereals, bagels and cream cheese, blueberry muffins, yogurt, and juices
8:30am-10:30am - Private Guided Tour of Zoo Atlanta, including a chance to feed the elephants or giraffes
10:30am-6:30pm - Explore Zoo Atlanta on your own with your included zoo admission


Required Items to Bring:
- Sleeping Bag
- Pillow
- Weather-Appropriate Clothing
- Comfortable, Closed-Toe Walking Shoes (We will be hiking all over Zoo Atlanta)

How to Get There:
Event Directions:

Zoo Atlanta is located in historic Grant Park, minutes from downtown Atlanta and less than a mile from Turner Field - home of the Atlanta Braves.

Driving:
Off of Interstate 20, Take Exit 59A (Boulevard) and proceed south 0.5 mile. Park in the lots on Boulevard.

Off Interstate 75/85, take Exit 246 (Fulton Street) and drive east on Fulton Street. Turn right at Capitol Avenue. Follow Capitol to first light, turn left on Georgia Avenue. Georgia Avenue ends at the Cherokee Avenue lot.

Parking is FREE.


Notes:

Please eat dinner on Saturday, October 8th because only a small snack will be provided.

PLEASE DO NOT BRING ANY OF THE FOLLOWING:
- Air Mattresses
- Flip Flops or Sandals
- Gum or Straws
- Electronic Devices such as MP3 players or radios


Important information for paid events in which payment is managed through the AOC:

     - Payment must be received by the payment due date and prior to participation in the event.

     - Some paid events require a minimum number of registered participants. If that number is not met, the event will be canceled and refunds will be issued to those who have already paid.

     - Third-party vendors often require damage deposits. Each registrant agrees to be liable for and required to reimburse the Atlanta Outdoor Club for any withheld deposits due to the actions of or damages caused by that registrant.

     - No partial payments. All registrants must pay the posted Member Cost regardless of any agreement you may have with any party involved in the event.

     - Read the event description carefully for additional information, and contact the trip leader(s) with any questions.

If you are on the registration list and miss the payment deadline, you will be removed from the trip. It will be your responsibility to add yourself back onto the trip or wait list if you desire.

Cancellation/Partial Attendance:   Please review the AOC cancellation policy.
*Note:

This event is rain or shine.

If you cancel on or before September 10th, full payment is refundable less a $5 administrative fee. No refund after September 10th unless someone from the waitlist replaces you and pays in full. In that case, you are eligible for a full refund less the $5 administrative fee.

Please allow two days for processing a PayPal transaction, and allow seven days (from mailing date) for a check to be processed. So both should be sent well in advance of the payment cut off date.
