Itinerary:
So let's start the day off right with a hike to see the sunrise at the summit of Stone Mountain.  It will be dark so please bring a headlamp/flashlight, and anticipate hiking up in the dark.  It takes about 30 minutes to get to the top.  Once there we can enjoy some morning breakfast snacks to fuel for a morning run around the Cherokee Trail.  Everyone is encouraged to run at their own pace.

Afterward sunrise, we will hike down to Cherokee Trail and then carry a steady running/jogging pace around the Cherokee Trail.  I will pause at major intersections to make sure any newcomers don't miss any turns.  Ultimately I would like to maintain a steady pace for entire loop, and maybe even some fast sprints once we get to the hills in the wooded forests.

Leave parking area in middle of Stone Mountain Village at 6:00 am.

Leave Confederate Hall 6:15 am.

Sunrise 7:18 am.

Done at 9:00 am, enjoy the beautiful day ahead of you!

*I would like to be sure everyone is able to participate safely, so I may communicate with you about your fitness level before the event.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:

Free Parking directions: To the main entrance- From I-285 take U.S. Hwy 78 East (Snellville/Athens) exit. Travel about 7 miles and take Exit 5, into Stone Mountain Village, take the very first exit to the right, when it meets to a T, turn left, stay on this road as it winds into the village, parking is located on you right in the middle of the village.

I noticed some broken glass over in the other parking area and feel nervous about parking over there in the dark.  I have decided to start parking in the middle of the Stone Mountain Village.  Please call me if you have any questions about the new recommended parking area.
