Itinerary:

This is a pleasant hike in the Gold Branch unit of the Chattahoochee National Recreation Area.  We will meet in the parking lot, which is located off Lower Roswell Road.  Please note that there are no restrooms at this location.

From the parking lot, we'll enter the woods and shortly make a moderate ascent, which will get our blood pumping a bit.  The remainder of the first half of the hike contains relatively gentle undulations as we make a loop around the area.  The second half of the hike will include two or three ascents.  We will have plenty of nice views of the river and Bull Sluice Lake.  The pace will be relatively moderate, making this a good hike for beginners.

If you bring your dog, it should be able to keep up with the group and interact well with other dogs and people. The Chattahoochee NRA requires that owners keep their dogs on a leash and clean up after their pets on the trails.
