Ok, all you polar bear types...I have one for you...winter car camping...

Hang out. Big fire. Warm drinks. Star gazing. Have fun. You get the idea! There will be nearby hikes on Saturday or Sunday (more details later) for those that want to go for a walk in the woods.

Required Items to Bring:
BYOE (Bring your own everything)
Recommended Items to Bring:
Use our Event Checklists to make sure you have everything you need.
Food for grilling (Campground has grills. Ill bring charcoal, etc.)
Non-cooked food for lunch
Water may or may not be available, so be prepared to bring bottled.
Tents, warm sleeping equipment (this is car camping, so quilts, etc are fine)
According to their website there is a privy open in the winter. I will check with the rangers to be sure.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:Suches, GA If not carpooling, you can drive to the campground anytime in the afternoon Saturday. Take US19 north from Atlanta (aka Ga400 in Atlanta), through Dahlonega, until you reach Stonepile Gap (theres a big pile of stones in the gap. Hard to miss). Turn left onto Ga Hwy 60 towards Suches. Go 7½ miles and turn right onto Wolfpen Gap Road. Follow signs to Lake Winfield Scott (approximately 5 miles on right).
