Itinerary:

This is my favorite of all the units of the Chattahoochee NRA and I thought it would be fun to share some of the lesser known side trails that I've explored.  This hike was inspired by TL Richard Z and his Sweetwater "back trails" hikes... and also TL Mark R and my co-leader Sarah showed me couple of additional ones as well.

We'll do an expanded version of this one day soon when we have more time but this will be a start.  There isn't any real bushwhacking involved...some of the trails are more well trodden than others though and if you are very allergic to poison ivy, just wear long pants or skip this one as I can't guarantee we won't encounter any. But we will take a trail that cuts through the middle area of the park and then go to the overlook platform, down a steep trail to the river and through the magical bamboo forest..then up to a mysterious rock circle and work our way back to the cars.

Sunset is at 7:20 PM and the park closes 30 min after that.  We may be cutting it close so wouldn't hurt to bring a headlamp or flashlight.

We will meet at the East Palisades Unit, Indian Trail Parking area
