Itinerary:
The fall color season is here again! Join me for a fall color and sunset photo hike in Panola Mountain State Park. Panola Mountain is a granite monadnock (mountain) very similar to Stone Mountain. Since access is limited to park ranger guided hikes, its natural beauty is well preserved and the park has been designated a National Natural Landmark. We'll start by hiking around the south river and then work our way up the mountain itself. Along the way, we'll see scenic views of the south river, lichen covered granite, a forest covered mountain top, views of Stone Mountain and Atlanta skyline, and an amazing sunset (hopefully!). Check out following link for more info and a photo gallery. http://gastateparks.org/PanolaMountain

Photo Hike: This hike will be geared toward the hiker that wants to balance exercise with the chance to enjoy the scenery. We'll take a leisurley pace and allow for breaks at scenic spots. Photographers of all levels and abilities are welcome. Please bring your point and shoot camera, SLR, or other favorite camera. Click the following links for information on why leaves change colors in the fall and on general tips for photographing fall colors. For general info on photography, see photo.net.
