You climbed small trees when you were little. Now that you have grown up, you want to climb big trees. Now is your chance to see what is involved without spending big bucks for equipment and instruction.

Your Park Ranger Instructor will introduce you to the equipment and its proper and safe operation. You will practice with the equipment (ropes, knots, harnesses, etc) until you are proficient, then you will be tested. You will ascend into a tree and repel down. Later we will hike to a new location and do some more tree climbing. Our program should be complete by mid-afternoon.

Roosevelt State Park Office & Visitor Center From Atlanta proceed South on I-85, turn onto I-185 South, Turn left (Southeast) on U.S. Highway 27, Turn left on GA Highway 354, Turn left on GA Highway 190, turn into the Park Visitor Center.


Are Dogs Permitted? No.

Will This Event Occur Rain or Shine? No. We will not tree climb in bad weather. The trip leader will make a weather decision by 7:00pm the day before. If the event is cancelled you will be notified by e-mail at that time.

NOTE: Please be considerate of others. If you sign-up and cannot attend, please e-mail the event leader, so others that may be on a waiting list may attend. E-mail the leader to be put on a waiting list if the event is at the max number of attendees.
