Itinerary:
(This is my warm up walk before much awaited 5k at Centennial Park, next morning)

Come join us on the trails at the Jones Bridge Unit of the Chattahoochee NRA. While not as well known as some of the other branches of the Chattahoochee NRA, Jones Bridge has an excellent system of trails which can be combined to provide five miles or so of hiking. Much of our hike will be along the river, but a good bit of it will be in the nearby woods. There will be a few hills you will need to climb but nothing with over a 150 foot elevation gain. There is also a good chance you will see some deer in the more isolated parts of this park. Due to the many possible side trails at the Jones Bridge Unit, it is important that we remain together fairly closely as a group.

A limited number of dogs will be permitted on this hike – two total on first sign up basis. Your dog should be well behaved and not disturb other hikers and joggers that frequent this park. Below are the park regulations on dogs -

Are dogs allowed at the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area? Dogs are allowed on the trails in the park but they must remain on a leash at all times. Leashes may not exceed six feet and are required for the safety of visitors as well as the dogs themselves. Pet owners are required to clean up after their dogs and dispose of the waste properly. Most locations have bags provided but bring extras in case they are depleted. Cleaning up after pets helps to protect the water quality of the river.

Three dollar parking fee or Chattahoochee NRA annual parking pass required.

Notes:
THis is a rain or shine hike, I love to hike in rain so hike will definitely proceed in case of rain. Except under extreme thunder storm warning.
