Note: This is an "EXPLORATORY" trip. This means that there are parts of this trip, or perhaps the whole trip, that is new to your Trip Leader(s). However, they are confident that this will not be an issue.
This note is here so that you can make an informed decision. When a Trip Leader isn't personally familiar with a trip, there is an increased chance of things not going as planned and you need to be prepared. The Trip Leader may have additional details in the itinerary.

Itinerary:
Byers,

Byers is one of the many caves located on Fox Mountain Preserve.  It is one of the most advanced horizontal caves in the region, so be prepared for this one.  There is a lot of chimneying, heights, climbdowns, traverses, and general climbing in this cave.

Also, there is a 2 mile hike to the cave.  This difficulty could be elevated by the storm damage earlier this year.  It might take more than two miles of hiking to navigate through the storm damage.  This is the reason for the "very" early start on sunday.

As always on advanced trips, there will be no aoc helmet rentals or equipment rentals of any kind.  All gear listed below is required and individuals who do not have all the required gear will not be allowed to enter the cave.  Or start the hike!!

***
This is an advanced trip!  I want to stress the abilities needed for this trip to be a success.  I require that each caver has completed Gourdneck to the end (Attic) and climb at a Stone Summit 5.9+.  Only  exceptions are previous cave experience in Byers and/or completed vertical training with an area Grotto (if you are not aware what a Grotto is then this is probably too advanced).

If I have never been on a trip with someone and/or they do not meet the above requirements please do not sign up for this one.  I will contact everyone on the signup list to check on their caving status if I do not already know this information.
