Itinerary:
Vickery Creek in Roswell is one of the best in-town hikes in Atlanta for a number of reasons which you'll learn by doing this hike! There are 6.3 miles of looping, criss-crossing trails in all and we will cover all of them. With a double-back or two and a side trail to some interesting old ruins, you can have bragging rights to 7 miles overall :)

There will be nice views and probably a lot of lingering fall color. My pace is around 2.5 mph with frequent stops for anything of interest or to re-group.

After the hike, those who wish can join me for dinner (restaurant TBD), followed by a ranger-led Owl Prowl at the nearby Jones Bridge CREEC beginning at 6:30. You need to reserve your spot for the Owl Prowl by calling 678-538-1200. More info can be found here (mouseover Nov. 12 on the calendar): http://www.nps.gov/chat/planyourvisit/events.htm?month=11&year=2011

AOC signup commitment is for the hike only - dinner and the Owl Prowl are optional.  We should be finished with the hike by 5 pm.
