Itinerary:

A great hike to celebrate Tuesday!  (It's my mother's 99th birthday!)

We'll hike both along the river and through the woods, over the gently rolling hills and flat paths by the river.  The rolling hills do not offer too much challenge, but the pace will be moderately fast, making it more than just a beginner's hike.  If our pace is fast enough, we might extend the distance to take in some cross trails.  Deer are common in this park and water fowl are often sighted along the river.  Bring your camera, if you wish!
 
We'll meet in the parking lot at the very end of the entrance road.  Restrooms are available here.  :-)

There is a $3 parking fee if you don't have an annual pass.  Also note that there are two entrances to the park.  The first is usually gated. That first entrance is NOT the correct one.  The second entrance, further north on Barnwell Road, is where we will meet.  More detailed directions are provided below.

Dogs are welcome, but in accordance with park rules, they must be on a leash.  Beware - - a couple of "dog incidents" have occurred at Jones Bridge because of dogs off leash that have become aggressive with our friendly dogs.

From GA 400, take exit 7a, and head East 4.1 miles through the intersection of Holcomb Bridge and Nesbitt Ferry Road to the junction of Barnwell Road. Turn left on Barnwell Rd, and travel approx 2 miles to Jones Bridge Branch which will be on the right. Turn in and go a little over 1/2 mile to large parking lot at end of road.
