Very Easy

The Silver Comet trail is part of the rails-to-trails project, which converts out-of-use railroad tracks into multi-use trails. It stretches from just outside Atlanta to the Alabama border. It is shady, safe, and level making it an excellent trail for beginners. Our route will take us 5 miles west of the Silver Comet depot and back. Well keep a leisurely pace of around 10mph. After the ride well head to Moes for lunch.

Dont have a bike? The Silver Comet Depot offers rentals for about $8 per hour (our ride should take a little over an hour). Check out the link below for important details. Please note that you must make your own bike rental arrangements - the AOC is NOT handling this!

How to Get There:
Event Directions:Silver Comet Depot, Mableton, GA 3012 10:00 a.m. in the Silver Comet Depot parking lot.
- Take I-20 west to Fulton Industrial Boulevard Exit (#49, near Six Flags) - exit to the right.
- Go North for .5 mile and turn left on Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive (GA139).
- Go about 7 miles (Martin Luther King Drive turns into Floyd Road after Highway 78, GA139 ends at the 78) and the Silver Comet Depot will be on your left just before you cross the Silver Comet Trail.

Are Dogs Permitted? No.

Will This Event Occur Rain or Shine? No, no biking on slippery trails.

NOTE: Please be considerate of others. If you sign-up and cannot attend, please e-mail the event leader, so others that may be on a waiting list may attend. E-mail the leader to be put on a waiting list if the event is at the max number of attendees.
