Itinerary:
Easy to Moderate 5 Mile Loop

This beautiful and scenic trail is partially on Cartecay River, the first 1/3 of the trip is hiking on gravel road in the open you can enjoy the beautiful scenery and mountains, when we get to the forest area, wešll start our trip toward the Cartecay River in the woods (some area maybe rocky, and sometimes we need to climb over a fallen tree), I have picked out a perfect spot for us for lunch, itšs a giant rock sitting on the side of the river overlooking a small waterfall (river water is cold, even during Summer the water is cold). (Wešll have our lunch here), after our lunch wešll get back on the trail and start our incline (2 miles of uphill) back to the trail head in the woods.

Required Items to Bring:
Plenty of water. If you have a hiking shoes its better. Trekking pole if you have them...if not you can find a walking stick on the trail. Please dont forget to bring lunch.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:East Ellijay, GA 10:00 a.m. - Rich Mountain Wildlife Management Area Parking lot, its a very limited parking lot we can probably fit total of 10 cars there. From Marriott, I-75 North to I-575 North, it will eventually becomes 515 (27 miles), stay on 515, when you see Super Walmart (22 miles), start looking for Hardees on the left (1.2 miles from Super Walmart), - TURN LEFT at the light where Hardees is, go over the creek and TURN RIGHT at the light, this will take you 52 EAST, - go several miles, until you see a large APPLE sign on the side of gray wooden building on thre right, TURN RIGHT on to STEGALL RD (entrance to the road is next to the building), - drive couple of miles until you get ot a stop sign, - TURN RIGHT at the stop sign, - TURN LEFT when you see MARTIN RD sign along with Rich Mountain Wildlife Management Area Cartecay Tract, soon youll see a wooden sign RICH MT WMA, CATECAY TRACT, WILDLIFE RESOURCES DIV. - drive down the gravel road until you get to a large open area, please park your car here and wait for Susumu in White Toyota Carolla
