Itinerary:
We will start on Springer and head North, all the way to Dick's Creek Gap at Hwy 76.  We will be doing about  10-12 miles a day and either camp or sleep in a shelter. There will be several bail out points, if you have to exit for some reason.  Along the way we will encounter the following points of interest. 

1st day we will hike to Cooper Gap 11.8 miles

2nd day Cooper Gap to Lance Creek  11.5 miles total 23.3 miles


3rd day from Lance Creek to Wolf Laurel Top, 10.9 miles total 34.2 miles. Between  Cooper Gap and Blood Mtn we will cross Hwy 60 Woody Gap, a good bail out point or Neel's Gap for resupply or a good place to exit

4th  Wolf Laurel Top to Popular Stamp Gap 10.7 miles total 42.9 miles

5th Day we will hike from Popular Stamp Gap to Cheese Factory 11.6 miles or Tray Mtn Shelter 1.6 miles from Cheese Factory total miles 56.5

6th day from  Cheese Factory or Tray Mtn. to Deep Gap Shelter. 9.5 miles total 64 miles

7th day from  Deep Gap Shelter to Dick's Creek Gap 3.7 miles total 67.6 miles

I have just found out that we can stay at the Hiker Hostile and they can do the shutteling the cost are as follows
Bunk bed which includes shower breakfast and kitchen facalities. cost $17.00. There is also a private room available $40.00 up to 2 people
shuttle to Springer $50.00 which will be split among all riders
shuttle from Dicks Creek $74.00 again share among all riders.
Since they are shutteling we might not camp at Deep Gap Shelter but we will make that decision when we get there. You will need to make reservations.
Phone number for Hiker Hostel is 770 312 7342. If there is no space call me and I will give you directions. Do this as soon as posible I called this morning and they had 6 bunks available.

Required Items to Bring:
tent, sleeping pad,sleeping bag, water purifing tablets or filter 7 breakfasts, 6 lunches, 6 dinners. snacks (power bars, trail mix), rain gear, plastic bag (trash bag) to put sleeping bag in incase of rain. Rope to hang food at night

hiking poles, camera, camp shoes, extra ziplock or baggie to put your billfold in, incase of rain

Carpool Cost: Estimated cost per vehicle for this event is $40.00 using a reimbursement rate guideline of $0.400 per mile. The total amount should be divided by the number of people in the vehicle, including the driver. This is a guideline, not a rule, for drivers but the cost should not be higher unless there are extenuating circumstances.

Notes:
You will need to contact trip leader by February 9 before the hike at 770 987 1689. There are several things we need to talk about that is too long to type, like food drops and possible exit points if you need to exit. If you do not contact leader by  February 9 you will be deleated from registration so if you are signed up please contact me. If you are on waiting list and space becomes available I will contact you. I will leave message if you are not available you will have until  specified time to contact me or I will delete you from registration and go to next person and so forth.
