Itinerary:
Beech Creek Trail is in the Southern Nanathala Wilderness. This hike can have a shuttle or not from the end of trail to start of trail is about 1/2 mile alonea road bed. We will walk trail counterclockwise. Trail starts climbing almost immediately crosses Beech Creek several times,After we cross creek for the last time trail starts climbing again after about 2 miles we will take side trail to High Falls. Falls are about 1/4 miles off trail. After viewing falls we will continue to Case Knife Gap for lunch break and another side trail to summit Scaley Mountail and if weather is clear we might be able to see Brasstowm Bald. About half mile down trail we come to another side trail we can take to Chimney Rock where we can climb to top if weather is OK. After we climb down from the rock and get back to the trail we will continue to decend to the parking lot. If we did not set up shuttle we will walk about 1/2 miles to our cars and then back to Atlanta.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:I=85 North to I-985 toward Gainesville which will turn into Hwy 441 to Tallulah Falls and Clayton,We will stop for bathroom break and anyone not meeting at carpool. Then on to Hwy 76 West for about 6 miles to Persimmon Rd on your right. To Tallulah Rd continue until it crosses into North Carolina to end of road if we set up shuttle if not 1/2 mile earlier in parking lot on your left.

Carpool Cost: Estimated cost per vehicle for this event is $96.00 using a reimbursement rate guideline of $0.400 per mile. The total amount should be divided by the number of people in the vehicle, including the driver. This is a guideline, not a rule, for drivers but the cost should not be higher unless there are extenuating circumstances.
