Itinerary:

Ok back to Pine Mountain

We will met at the carpool I suggest about 8:45am and leave at 9 am sharp.  Once there will get to the Pine Mountain State Park office around 10:30-11 ish.  There we will get out backcountry passes and then select the campsite and plan our route.  You can not reserve a specific campsite at Pine Mountain.  You can only reserve one of them and pick out what is left when you arrive at the office.

The plan though is to get a site that is 5-6 miles in and about the same out.  The pace will be slow and relaxing hike in and out.  Once we arrive at the campsite we will make camp and then gather wood.  Then we can make dinner and relax around the campfire.  Then next morning wake up break camp and pack our way out back to the cars.

There is a possibility this will be a loop hike or a point to point where we will leave some cars at either end of the hike and then relay back to the other cars.  It depends on the available  campsites.

In general the the trails at Pine Mountain are rolling hills and in some areas rather flat.  One should not expect massive elevation change or monster climbs or decents.

Carpool Cost: Estimated cost per vehicle for this event is $40.00 using a reimbursement rate guideline of $0.400 per mile. The total amount should be divided by the number of people in the vehicle, including the driver. This is a guideline, not a rule, for drivers but the cost should not be higher unless there are extenuating circumstances.

Notes:

This is a D3 trip and not a hardcore trip.  If there is chance for exteme cold or heavy rain it will be postponed.  Also if this trip is your first backpacking trip do not be afraid to email or call me with questions.  This is also a learning experience for you to enjoy the woods!
