This note is here so that you can make an informed decision. When a Trip Leader isn't personally familiar with a trip, there is an increased chance of things not going as planned and you need to be prepared. The Trip Leader may have additional details in the itinerary.

Itinerary:
Blue Springs Cave,

Finally (For Me), a trip to the 9th longest cave in the U.S. and the longest cave in T.A.G.  Weighing in at 37.2 miles of surveyed cave, we have our hands full with this one.  That being said, one day in this cave just won't cut it, and I plan to make this a great weekend by caving saturday and sunday!

Friday we will leave Kennesaw CCT/Park and Ride at 6:45 and we have a 3 hour drive to our accommodations.  We have reserved an amazing 2 bedroom cabin that sleeps 12 easily for the weekend.  There is no set price for the weekend; however, there is a "donation" bowl that I encourage everyone to pitch in.  Our host only asks that we put in "what we think it was worth."

Saturday will be an "in-depth" introduction to Blue Springs.  I hope to get in about 8 to 10 hours on our first day.  We will be doing the 1/4 to 1/2 mile long crawl in and out so be prepared for it.  Saturday will be the longer of the two days; however, sunday will be just as difficult but for a shorter time.

Blue Springs can tend to be on the warmer side.  So be prepared with some short sleeves or the ability to shed layers; however, it will be very cold outside so be ready with a winter jacket, beanie, gloves, and a small bag to leave it all in outside the entrance.

Saturday's event officially ends at 7:00 so anyone that needs to get back to Atlanta can do so and should arrive at the Park and Ride around 10:00 pm.  We will prepare for anyone that is coming up for the sunday trip.

Sunday, well, will be FUNDAY!

***This trip can accomodate a beginner if they are physically fit and in good shape.  As a group we do move at a very fast pace inside caves.  If I had to put a line in the sand, I would hope anyone on the trip can easily hike a D4, Climb at a Stone Summit 5.8, and have been on a D2 cave trip.  This is also a very good watermark for someone attempting both days.***
