Looking for a nice and relaxing backpacking getaway over a long weekend but still able to enjoy the festivities on July 4th?? Well, my friends...I have an event for you!!

We will start at Dally Gap and hike down Jacks River Trail to Jacks River where we will cross 18 times (YES, 18 times) on our adventure to the intersection of Jacks River Trail and Penitentiary Trail. Here, we will set up camp at a beautiful spot right next to Jacks River. Saturday afternoon we can relax around camp and a good fire later in the evening. Sunday, we will hike down to Jacks River Falls and a swimming spot where we can have a picnic lunch and spend the better part of the day. We will then go back to camp for dinner and a relaxing time around the fire. Monday morning we will hike out on Penitentiary Trail, turn right on Hemp Top Trail and follow the trail down to Dally Gap to complete our loop.
