Itinerary:

(photo is on Van Michael trail along Lake Allatoona)

OVERVIEW:  Blankets Creek is a "bike-only" trail system of 4 independent loops of about 15 miles total, with many great views of Lake Allatoona.  The trails alternative direction daily, so that all riders are going in the same direction.

We'll plan on getting started 15 to 20 minutes after the meet time.  We'll start with a 2 mile beginner trail as warm up, then the 4 mile intermediate Dwelling Loop and finally the 4 miles Van Michael loop.  The Dwelling loop features nice views of the lake and enough climbing to more than deserve an intermediate rating. The Van Michael (VMT) trail is considered advanced, due to the climbing, but is fast and flowy with very little in the way of technical trail features.

Our pace will be moderate.  We'll ride a minimum of 10 miles, thus the D4 rating.   Some minimal mountain biking experience is recommended.  We'll break up into groups if needed to accomodate riders with varying paces, as well as to minimize our impact on the trail and interactions with other riders (these are very popular trails).
