Itinerary:
Have you ever been on a hike were you thought the trip leader just randomly picked where to go at each trail junction? Well for this event we are going to let chance determine were we are going. We are going to be on a established and well marked trail system in the middle of Roswell. So there is no real danger of us getting lost.

The Vickery Creek section of the Chattahooche National Recreation Area contains many miles of interconnected hiking trails. I have lead many hikes here for the AOC and am pretty familar with all of trails at this park.

For this hike our route will be determined soley by chance. I have counted about 15 trail junctions and another 10 locations were the official trail dead ends or leaves the Chattahooche NRA park boundries. The longest stretch between junctions is 0.65 miles so we should have a coin flip at least every 15 minutes. Here are the guidelines for the coin flip hike.

1. After we cross the road and gather at Vickery Creek we will set the timer for two hours.

2. At each junction point with a marker we will flip a coin to determine which direction to go. A few junctions have three possible directions to go. I'll have a dice or some other way to determine which way to go for this. If anyone has any special coins they are welcome to bring them.

3. If the trail dead-ends or leaves the park boundary we will return to return the junction and have another coin flip.

4. Only official trails within the Chattahooche Vickery Creek NRA will be used.

5. Once we climb the 0.5 mile hill near the start of the hike, we will not return to the parking lot until hike is over.

6. After two hours we will stop and return to the nearest junction. We will have a short break and the return on the most direct route to the start.

I'll come up with some type of game so everybody can guess were we will end up along with some small prize for the winner.

We will meet at Riverside Park (575 Riverside Road Roswell, GA) where there should be plenty of free parking. We will then walk across the road to Vickery Creek where we will begin our hike.

If you bring your dog(one per owner please), it should be able to keep up with the group and interact well with other dogs and people. The Chattahooche NRA requires that owners clean up after their pets on the trails and they should be leashed at all times. A maximum of three dogs will be permitted on this hike.
