Itinerary:

For this hike, we'll park at the first lot on the left as you enter Island Ford. (There are no restrooms at this location, but we'll pass the Visitor's Center during our hike, where restrooms are available.)  If it's your first visit to this parking lot, annual CNRA park passes can be purchased here. If you plan to do much hiking in the area, the $25 annual fee is a bargain.  If you do not have an annual pass, the fee for the day's parking at Island Ford is $3.00. Please have cash handy and allow time to buy your day-pass before the hike.

Plan to cover around 5 miles while we're out including the "new" Sandy Springs Parks Trail as well as choice portions of the NRA.  We'll rest from time to time if necessary, otherwise we'll use our time to move along. We'll enjoy the forests as well as consistent winter views of the river.
