Itinerary:
This AOC biking event takes us along the beautiful and scenic Tenneesse River. We'll start at the base of the Chickamauga Dam and ride 16 miles (8 miles out and back) to downtown Chattanooga on a paved multiuse trial. We'll be biking at an easy to moderate pace of about 10-12 miles per hour. We'll explore two funky areas of downtown Chattanooga, have lunch alfresco, and stop at Rembrandt's for coffee and dessert. With so much fun at hand, this ride will be a blend of exercise and recreation.

The Riverpark follows the Tennessee River to downtown Chattanooga. It is a paved multiuse trail like the Silver Comet, Big Creek Greenway, and Arabia Mountain. There are some side trails so the total distance could be a mile or two longer. About half of the trail runs directly beside the Tennessee River and is a very scenic ride. We will start with a dramatic view at the base of the Chickamauga Dam as we unload our bikes. At the midpoint, we will cross the river on the Walnut Street Bridge (one of the largest pedestrian only bridges in the world) and explore the hip North Shore Chattanooga area (refreshments, more river views, and an optional carousel ride). We'll also explore the Bluff View Art District located at the south side of the Bridge. Click above for Riverpark info and a route map. NOTE: The Riverpark is very popular and we'll likely be sharing the trail with walkers, joggers, and baby strollers.

While the total event duration is 8 hours, the total ride time will be much less. This will give us plenty time to explore the North Shore area and Bluff View Arts District. Depending on our preferences, the total event time may be shorter.

You are responsible for your bike maintenance and/or repairs on the trail. Also, please consider safety precautions and bring a bike Helmet.

**ALSO PLEASE NOTE**
