Itinerary:

Hmm ... "Home for Lunch" hikes" Why ? All hikes start at 9:00am on Saturdays or Sundays and will last around three hours. So, you'll be (almost) home for lunch. The "Home for Lunch" hikes are suitable for Newbies and Beginners. Why? We are not planning to set new speed records. If we hike 5 - 6 miles or so, that's fine too. All hikes will be at different places in the Metro Atlanta area. Why ? We want you to spend your time hiking and not driving. This is a rain or shine hike (except under extreme thunder storm warning). Why? Just because :) Did you count ‘em? Now you know where the name "Four WHY" hikes came from.

Note: This is a D3 hike, meaning more "ups and downs", more scrambling, and going "the extra mile". Hiking poles are recommended.

Come and join me on the trails at Whitewater Creek (East Palisades) - Unit of the Chattahoochee NRA. The East Palisades is surrounded by some of the Georgia's wealthiest homes. We meet at the entrance "Whitewater Trail" and then hike along the shore and "over the hills and far away" until the Overlook. From there to the "The Devil's Race Course Shoals", which were named by early river boatmen because the shoals were the "devil" to navigate, continuing to the only "Bamboo Forest" in Atlanta ... and then back.

If you have any questions e-mail the Event Coordinator.
