Class V—Extremely Difficult—Whitewater Paddling Experience Definitely Preferred

Want some excitement and adventure to round out your year? Well, join me for the New River Gorge’s Bridge Day! It is only one day out of the year, so we’ve gotta go! The New River Gorge Bridge is the longest single spanned arch bridge in the world, and it is approximately 870 feet above the New River. On Bridge day, they allow people to base-jump and parachute off of the New River Gorge Bridge—and I am arranging for us to be on the river to watch the festivities! After an all day rafting trip, we will enjoy a pig roast and live music. Then on Sunday, we will raft the Gauley river which will also be an all day-er. Both these rivers are amazing rivers with World Class Rapids, plus how beautiful will the scenery be with the changing leaves!?? So, come join the fun!

Fri, Oct 20th—drive to New River Gorge—approx 7 hours so that day would be taken off from work. Pitch our tents and enjoy Oktoberfest with ACE—Oktoberfest is a weekend of hot chili, cold brew, live music and great deals on end of season gear at ACE.

Sat, Oct 21st—raft the Lower New River on Bridge Day while people are jumping off the New River Gorge Bridge, hot grilled lunch provided by ACE on river. Pig Roast, Live music and Festivities in evening, Oktoberfest and video of the day’s run, hang out at camp.

Sun, Oct 22nd—raft Upper or Lower Gauley**—probably Lower unless we have real experienced paddlers—Upper has 5 Class V+’s(14’ 6 person self-bailing raft), hot grilled lunch provided by ACE on river, Oktoberfest and our video of the day’s run in evening, hang out at camp.

Mon, Oct 23rd—drive home so that day would be taken off.
