Itinerary:

Sunrise is at 7:17 am 

It will be an early start to a weekend day, but sunrise at the summit of Pine Mountain will be worth it. 

The hike will begin at the west loop trailhead. We'll hike counterclock wise to reach the summit of Pine Mountain (1,562 ft.).  This should take no more than a half hour.  We'll watch sunrise before we hike the East loop and then the rest of the West Loop before getting back to our cars.

Total hiking is approximately 5 miles. This is a D3 hike, so pace won't be fast, but won't be slow either.  Plan for a minimum of 2.5 mph.

  • 2 L. of water
  • Good hiking shoes/boots

How to Get There:
Event Directions:
  • I-75 north to Exit 288
  • Take a Right (East) on Main Street
  • At the end of Main Street, take a right at the Komatsu sign.
  • West Loop Trailhead access and parking area is on the left.
