Itinerary:
Located north of Atlanta in Cumming, Georgia, Sawnee Mountain Preserve provides visitors with 963 acres of scenic passive space, hiking trails and an interactive Visitor Center. The Visitor Center serves as the administrative home for the Outdoor Division of Forsyth County Parks and Recreation. There are two visitor's centers, please meet at the Spot Road one.

Visitor Center hours: M-F 8:30 AM-5:00 PM
Preserve hours: S-S 8:00 AM-Dark

** This is a beginner hike. The pace will be on the slow side of moderate. The ascent pretty easy since they reconfigured some of the trails. I will go slower, even if someone makes me drag a bag of cement up the mountain. There is some ascent so please be in adequate shape to handle that.

We will meet in the Sawnee Mountain Preserve Spot Road parking lot. Look for the bronze Native American statue out front.  From the visitor's center, we'll start on the Laurel Trail then take the lower Indian Seats trail to the top. We'll pause at the "Indian Seats" and observation deck  and then head back down Indian Seats Trail and connect back up with the Laurel Trail and end up back at the cars.  Total hike is just under 4 miles.

Dogs are not allowed at this park.

We are meeting at the Spot Road location: Do not go to the Bettis Tribble Gap location.
