Itinerary:
Spring in Georgia is a beautiful time and the Pocket Trail in the Crockford-Pigeon Wildlife Management Area is a great place to enjoy it.

This is a 9.5 mile loop trail which climbs to and follows a ridge line for almost 3 miles.  We'll pass and photograph a beautiful waterfall.  We'll also encounter a variety of rock formations along the mountain's edge which provide nice overlooks onto surrounding mountains and farm lands.

This area of the State also contains a variety of rare wildflowers.  I don't know what might be blooming, but hopefully we'll encounter some interesting species.

We'll also check out the Shirley Miller Wildflower Trail.  This is a very short, level boardwalk with interpretive signs. This will be a leisurely stroll to read the posted information about plant species.

Finally, we'll stop for a group dinner on the way home.  If you can't stay for dinner, you will need to bring your own car or carpool with others who cannot stop.

The total hiking distance is approximately 10 miles.  Elevation gain is moderate, with a few steep climbs.
