Itinerary:
Moderate 7 Miles

Pine Mountain has a network of horse trails that venture deep into the forest. These trails are beautiful and shady, and in years of walking on them I have never met neither horse nor human. Our itinerary will include a short portion of the Pine Mountain trail and several sections of other trails.

Optional: After the hike we will have a picnic lunch in Dowdell’s Knob. There are several picnic tables with a nice view.

Required Items to Bring:
Plenty of water, trekking poles and good hiking shoes.
Recommended Items to Bring:
Use our Event Checklists to make sure you have everything you need.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:Pine Mountain, GA. 9:45 a.m. at Rocky Point parking lot. Proceed South on Interstate 85 until Interstate 185. Continue south on Interstate 185 until Exit 34/GA 18. At the top of the ramp turn left (East) on GA 18. After about 6.7 miles you will see an entrance to Callaway Gardens on your right. At that point, GA 18 transitions into GA 354. Continue straight on GA 354 (crossing US27 in the process) about 4 miles, until you get to GA 190 at a stone bridge. Turn left onto GA 190 and proceed about 6.6 miles. The parking lot will be on your right.
