Update as of 10am, 4/18: Hike and stargazing cancelled due to wet conditions.  Bike ride around mountain is still on, weather permitting.

Bike ride begins at 6:00 and hike at 7:30.  Sunset is 8:10. You're welcome to bike only, hike only, or both. Max of 15 for hike and 8 for bike ride.  Please indicate in the notes when signing up which you'll be doing. Also, bike ride is D4 and hike is D2....thanks

We'll ride 3 times around the mountain (can do more or less if the group prefers).   D4 rating due to a couple of big hills, but pace will be moderate at about 13-14 mph (about 22 min+ laps).

We'll plan on getting done the ride by about 7:15.   Then, after changing, we'll regroup at the bathrooms at 7:30 to begin the walk-up hike.   If you're hiking only, be aware we may be running a little long, but will plan to start the hike no later than 7:45.  If the skies are clear, I'll bring my little 90mm telescope and we can view some planets (I may need a volunteer to help with some equipment).

Note: Entrance fee to park is $10, or $35 annually.

Road or hybrid bike, helmet, water, bike repair items
If hiking: shoes/change of clothes, light jacket, flashlight

How to Get There:
Event Directions:Directions to Walk up trail:
From I-285 take U.S. Hwy 78 East about 7 miles to Exit 8, Stone Mountain Park Entrance.
After entering, road will fork at about 1 mile - stay to the right. Continue for 1 mile.
About 0.2 miles, turn left into parking lot, just past the Confederate Hall. We'll gather at the start of the walk up trail near the bathrooms.
