Itinerary:

Vickery Creek is a beautiful section of the Chattahoochee National Recreation Area. We will hike around 5 miles of these trails at a brisk pace including visiting the old dam on Big Creek and crossing the "rock cliff" area.  Beware!  The cliff area requires some threatening rock crossings that are a bit difficult, especially with dogs.  If you have a fear of heights, it can be scary.  We've never had anyone fall, but that doesn't mean it couldn't happen.  On one hike, the dogs had to be carried over this section.

This is a free week for the CNRA units, so there is no fee for parking!  It's usually $3 per car, so it's nice to be taking advantage of this discount!

If you bring your dog, it should be able to keep up with the group (see the caution about dogs above)  and interact well with other dogs and people. The Chattahoochee NRA requires that owners keep their dogs on a leash and clean up after their pets on the trails.

Required Items to Bring:

Hiking shoes and water

Recommended Items to Bring:

Poles, if you like to use them - - though they'll be in the way for the cliff crossing.
