Itinerary:
Standing at 3,166 feet, Mount Yonah is known for the panoramic views from it's rocky cliffs.  The cliffs are a great place to watch the sunset and star gaze at night.  We will be camping on a grassy field at the top of the mountain with easy access to the cliffs.

We will begin by hiking at a D3 leisurely to moderate pace up the Mount Yonah trail (approx. 1500 ft elevation gain in about 2.5 miles).  Beginning backpackers are welcome to attend.  We will stop for breaks on the way up to the top.  After setting up camp, we will check out the view of Cleveland, GA and the North Georgia Mountains from the cliffs. Then we will have time for dinner, watch the sunset from the overlooks, and have a campfire.  We will pack up and hike back down the same trail mid-Sunday morning to our cars.  Total hiking distance round-trip will be approximately 6 miles.

Email me if you have any questions about equipment needed for the trip.
