Itinerary:

This is an excellent hike for folks who want to get into hiking for the first time, who want to simply get out and enjoy the beauty of nature, or who just want to get some fresh air without exerting themselves.

We will go at a leisurely pace, perhaps stopping to note some of the self-guided points of interest along the route. We'll see some beautiful trees, plants and wildlife in this protected little area.

The "Backcountry Trail System" consists of three trails: (1) Backcountry Trail; (2) Spring Hollow Trial; (3) the Jackson Overlook Trail. These trails are for foot travel only and are easy to walk;  there are no steep grades.

Those who have the time and energy are invited to sign up for a second hike at Morgan Falls, just a traffic light down the road. We'll start that hike at 12:15 PM.  It will also be a beginner's hike with some beautiful overviews of the Bull Sluice lake.
