Itinerary:
Easy to moderate 8 miles

NOTE: My hikes are more leisurely....with plenty of breaks for water and snacks....if you are fast hiker and wants to hike fast, or power hiker, this may not be the hike for you.

This is an interesting trail, various trails interconnected via gravel road, first well visit the Water fall trail, and then gold mine trail (ruins of old gold mine), then swamp land trail, and then if we still have the strength will go up the mountain trail to see the view of Mount Yonah.

Required Items to Bring:
Plenty of water (2 litters minimum). Good Hiking shoes. Trekking pole, youll be so glad. RAIN GEAR you might not need it, but when the rain comes youll be so glad you have one. Backpack would be better than a small fanny pack. Try to dress warm in layers. Please DONOT forget your lunch and water.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:Smithgull Woods Conservation Area, 706-878-3087 11:00 a.m. Smithgull Woods Conservation Area Visitor Center From Hotel Go back on windy Hill Road, to I-75 South, I-285 East to 400, 400 North through Dawsonville, when 400 ends, continue straight to GA-115, turn Right on GA-115, stay on GA-115 to Cleveland, go West on 129, Turn Right on to ALT 75 (Youll see ALT 75 after you pass the school), youll see Helen 9 miles sign, drive approx 6 miles, and youll see the entrance to conservation area.

Will this event occur rain or shine? No, not is heavy rain or thunderstorms are forecast.
