Itinerary:

Practice makes perfect - - so I've hiked West Palisades once again, and I can promise you we won't get lost this time - - hopefully.  :-)   This is a lovely CNRA unit with plenty of parking at this entrance and a nice bathroom facility. There's another bathroom facility at the other end of the unit that I just discovered today!  The begining of the trail is asphalt, but don't let that fool you.  It soon branches off into scenic woods and soft trails, often with beautiful views of the water.

We'll hike at a moderately fast pace which will provide a good workout, especially on the many ascents throughout the area.  If you haven't done D3's regularly, this hike would probably not be a comfortable pace for you to maintain.

There's a $3 parking fee at this location.  Be sure to have correct amount in cash to purchase a parking tag.  (Failure to do so is a $75 fine!)

Required Items to Bring:

Water
Good hiking shoes

Recommended Items to Bring:
Use our Event Checklists to make sure you have everything you need.

Poles (if you like to use them)
Sunscreen
Insect repellant

It's a good idea to wear long pants if you're sensitive to poison ivy.  Its growing season started early this year!
