Meet at base of walk-up trail (near restrooms) at 7:30, begin hike by 7:45. 

If the skies are clear, Harry will bring his little 90mm telescope and we can view planets, or lunar if moon is near 1st quarter.

If cancellation due to weather appears likely, an E-mail will be send no later than noon on the day of the event.


Sunset is 8:38.   Planets now visible: Venus (east), Mars (overhead) and Saturn (west).  New moon (ie,dark skies)

Entrance fee to park is $10, or $35 annually.

Shoes with good traction, flashlight, water

How to Get There:
Event Directions:

Directions to Walk up trail From I-285 take U.S. Hwy 78 East about 7 miles to Exit 8, Stone Mountain Park Entrance. After entering, road will fork at about 1 mile - stay to the right. Continue for 1 mile. About 0.2 miles, turn left into parking lot, just past the Confederate Hall. We'll gather at the start of the walk up trail near the bathrooms.
