Itinerary:

The Leita Thompson Memorial is a very pretty trail located in Roswell, GA. It's made of soft, small gravel and plenty wide to walk side by side. It's very wooded and clean and has a few nice little hills. I call it the perfect D2. We'll do about 3 or 3.5 miles on the trails including a walk around a small lake far off the beaten path. This is a great beginners hike.

A little bit more information on the park:

http://thefarm.typepad.com/ngmo/2009/06/leita-thompson-memorial-park.html

There are three sets of porta potties throughout the park.

Please call trip leader if you are running late. We won't wait, so you'll have to catch up with the group if you do arrive late.

We'll allow up to three dogs on this hike. Please cooperate with the posted rules. AOC is very visible and it is important we portray a good image. Off leash dogs have been known to chase animals, injure animals and stir up yellow jackets. Additionally, some hikers are afraid of dogs. A leashed dog allows the owner to better control it and makes the hike more comfortable for all involved. You must clean up after your dog. Dogs must be on leash at all times, no exceptions (except in the off leash park).

There is a green roofed pavillion very close to Woodstock Rd. You can see it easily from the road and it says "Leita Thompson Pavillion." There is a road on the East side of that and it leads directly to the parking lot.
