Itinerary:

We will pause at the water for a moment of silence in Lauren E's honor.

West Palisades is a great area to hike! We hike for miles and hardly see any people on the trails. On a nice day, we're likely to see a lot of folks swimming, sun bathing, fishing and kayaking on the Hooch.  It's a lovely CNRA unit with plenty of parking at this entrance and a nice bathroom facility.  Part of the trail is asphalt, but don't let that dissuade you.  It soon branches off into scenic woods and trails, often with beautiful views of the water. The water is so close to many of the trails and you can see a lot of features of East Palisades from across the water.  There are more trails along the water here than over at East Palisades.

We'll hike at a brisk pace which will provide a nice workout without getting into the fitness category of events.  There are a couple of hills that will get your heart pumping. This is a solid D3 hike so please make sure you're in proper shape for it.

There's a $3 parking fee at this location.  Be sure to have correct amount in cash to purchase a parking tag.  (Failure to do so is a $75 fine!)

Please call the trip leader if you are running late. We won't wait, so you'll have to catch up with the group if you do arrive late.

Lat/Lon will take you straight to the parking lot:
