Itinerary:

Vickery Creek zoom zoom: fast walking, less talking.

We are going to haul ass, stop minimal times and get our sweat on. This is a fast paced fitness hike and not suitable for beginners. It'll be dusty in the back.

Vickery Creek is a beautiful section of the Chattahoochee National Recreation Area. I'll try to cover 5 or 6 miles of these trails at a fast pace including visiting the old dam on Big Creek.

Please read this part carefully: as long as there has not been any recent rain we will take the cliffs. It can be a little bit technical and not super fun if you're scared of heights. The trail between the cliffs and the parking lot has been trimmed back. If you are susceptible to poison ivy I would suggest wearing long pants as there is still a chance you could brush it on our way through. And secondly, we will see the dam from both sides and take a trail that requires you to cross a very wide pipe (not bridge) over the creek. The pipe is about 5 feet off of the water, the water is about waist deep and the length is about 25 feet and is the only way across. I hate heights and I crossed it without any issue. It's just something fun to do and it gets us on some of the trails that aren't quite as used as others.

Please arrive a few minutes early to check in. We will not wait, you will have to catch the group. You will be left.

All of the NCRA parks have a parking fee of $3 cash, unless you have a Chattahoochee NRA annual pass ($25).
