Itinerary:

Gourdneck is located in South Pittsburgh, Tn, just past Kimball, Tn.  This will be a fun cave for both cavers and climbers.  Gourdneck makes the USA top 200 deepest cave list at 400 feet deep and is approximately 1.5 miles long.  This cave has it all.  The entrance has a 30 foot drop in on rope, after that there some parts with heights that require climbing, a lot of time in water, and at the end there are some tall chimney climbs and a 30 foot pancake crawl.

This is an Advanced trip, caving experience as well as climbing experience are a must.  Adding to the difficulty is the presence of water, you will be cold and wet.  No gear, such as helmets or lights, will be provided or available for rent!

Warning:

This will be a cold and wet cave, correct clothing must be worn in this cave to enjoy the experience.  Polythermals are highly recommended.  No cotton shirts or jeans will be permitted inside the cave.

This is not a beginner cave, I will be personally contacting every person (unless I have caved with you) to check on their gear and experience as this will be crucial to group and personal safety.

I will require that each person to have completed at least one D4 caving trip and climb at a Stone Summit 5.9.

Exeptions can and will be made; however, a D2 caver with no climbing experience will not enjoy this trip.  I will move anyone to the waiting list that does not meet the qualifications or have the required gear.
