Itinerary:

Calling all road bikers!  Time to "Get out of Dodge" and hit the open road!

If you haven't had a chance to visit Sosabee cycling park and bike on some awesome roads...here's your chance!  We'll be meeting at 9:30 am at Sosabee Cycling Park and ride a portion of the BBC (Beatiful Backroads Century) 31-mile loop.

Typically, this ride begins and ends at the Budweiser Plant in Cartersville, but we'll be starting at the Park instead and starting our ride at a different part of the loop.  All in all, we'll still be riding about 30 miles on open hilly, roads.

** PLEASE READ **

This ride is NOT a recreational ride, but more of a fast-paced ride.  If you don't have a road bike or tri-bike, I politely ask you not to sign up for this event.  This ride is not really intended for Hybrids and Mountain Bikes.  I'd like to move at a good pace of around 16 - 18 mph (sometimes faster). We will stop to keep everyone together (it's a no-drop ride), HOWEVER if you have to dismount your bike to get up a hill I will ask you to return to your vehicle.

Also, you must have some previous D4 or harder bike rides in your profile.  The AOC doesn't do a whole lot of road biking events, so I will contact you if you haven't done any D4 or D5 rides.

There is an alternate 15-mile loop if you feel tired, so you will have 1 chance to bail out.  There are also longer loops (up to 100 miles) if anyone feels like they want to do something longer.  The purpose of this trip is to meet at a great location for road biking and get in a good workout.  It's a very popular place to bike and the route is well marked.

After the ride, you can bring your own picnic lunch at Sosebee Park (they do have bathrooms and water), or join us for lunch and adult beverages in historic downtown Cartersville.
