Float

Cool off with a leisurely hump-day afterwork float along one of our favorite evening runs. We'll put in at Island Ford CNRNA and float 3 miles to Azalea Drive. The trip starts out with a few fun class I, dodge the rocks, ripples and then becomes a lazy, peaceful ride the rest of the way to Azalea Drive. We don't do much paddling after the rapids. If the water is high enough there are a couple of places to digress, hang out and enjoy a snack and beverages.

Join us after the float for some Mexican food.

The Plan

The entrance to Island Ford is on Roberts Dr. Go almost all the way to the rear parking area. Just before that, look for the turn-off on the right down to the boat launch area. Drive down, drop your gear, drive back up and park. Parking fee is $3 unless you have a pass.

I'm planning to bring only one car to the take-out so hopefully we'll get the shuttle set up quickly. We'll launch as soon as the shuttle crew gets back which should be 6 PM or a bit later.
